- Catalyst purge after fuel cut off is not active
- The engine speed is higher than 600 RPM
- Mass air flow is less than 83 g/sec
- The exhaust gas temp. is between 572°F (300°C) and 1472°F (800°C)
- Stable driving conditions

- The Upstream Lambda (rich) is less than 0.7 and the Downstream O2 signal voltage is less than 0.05V (lean)

- 5 to 100 s. depending on intake air mass

Prerequisite Condition |
- Fuel cut off is not active
- Full load not is active with accelerator pedal value lower than 90%
- The exhaust gas temp. is lower than 1760°F (960°C)
- The battery voltage is between 10 and 16V

- The lambda value is less than 1.05 when the lambda set-point is 1.15
