DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Trouble Shooting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Monitor signals
  1. Poor contact of connector
  2. O2 Sensor (Up)
Case 1 Prerequisite Condition
  • Upstream O2 sensor operative readiness is detected
  • Downstream O2 sensor operative readiness is detected
  • Active Test is not activated
  • Catalyst purge after fuel cut off is not active
  • The engine speed is higher than 600 RPM
  • Mass air flow is less than 83 g/sec
  • The exhaust gas temp. is between 572°F (300°C) and 1472°F (800°C)
  • Stable driving conditions
Threshold Value
  • The Upstream Lambda (rich) is less than 0.7 and the Downstream O2 signal voltage is less than 0.05V (lean)
Diagnostic Time
  • 5 to 100 s. depending on intake air mass
Case 2 Prerequisite Condition
  • Fuel cut off is not active
  • Full load not is active with accelerator pedal value lower than 90%
  • The exhaust gas temp. is lower than 1760°F (960°C)
  • The battery voltage is between 10 and 16V
Threshold Value
  • The lambda value is less than 1.05 when the lambda set-point is 1.15
Diagnostic Time
  • 10 sec. after the lambda value is set
MIL
  • 2nd driving cycles
