Repair Procedures: Replacement

  1. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
    WARNING:
    • After disconnect the battery (-) terminal, wait at least 3 minutes.
  2. Remove the front seat back cover.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT SEAT BACK COVER ")

  3. Remove the CSAB (A), after removing the nuts.

    Tightening torque: 

    5.9 - 7.8 N.m (0.6 - 0.8 kgf.m, 4.3 - 5.8 lb-ft)

  4. To install, reverse removal procedure.

    Information 

    • After installing the front seat belt retractor, check that the air bag warning indicator illuminates for about 6 seconds when the ignition is ON and then goes out.
    • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
    NOTE:
    • Incorrect installation of the front seat back cover will interfere with the normal deployment of the side airbags, so check that the front seat back cover is properly installed.
