Component Inspection

  1. IG "OFF" & Disconnect Injector connector.
  2. Measure resistance between EGR valve Motor (+) terminal and EGR valve Motor (-) of EGR valve connector. (Component Side)

    Specification:  Approx. 2.21 ~2.99 Ω

  3. Is the measured resistance within specification?

    YES

    • Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage. So, check poor connections and the related circuit between ECM and component thoroughly. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO

    • Substitute with a known - good EGR valve and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace EGR valve and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
CAUTION: When the EGR value unit is replaced, the "Component Change Routine" procedure should be carried out. If not, a vehicle performance and exhaust gas-related problem may occur until the automatic learning is completed after the time of unit replacement.
