Check FPS performance

  1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
  2. Connect probe to signal terminal of FPS connector and select oscilloscope function with GDS.
  3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  4. Check the signal waveforms with stepping on accelerator pedal.

    Specification:  Refer to SIGNAL WAVEFORM & DATA 

  5. Is the measured signal waveform (Comparison response of TPS with FPS) O.K?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECM's connector. Or, ECM memory was not cleared after repair. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair ".

    NO 

    • Replace the RPS with an usable one and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace the RPS and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair ".
