Monitor GDS Data

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF".
  3. Select "Current Data" mode and monitor "Inhibitor switch" parameter.
  4. Monitor the "CAN COMMUNICATION SERVICE DATA (ENGINE RPM, VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR, THROTTLE P. SENSOR)" parameters on the GDS.

  5. Is measured current data within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact between PCM/TCM and Sensor, and DTC was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

    NO 

    • Go to "Terminal and Connector Inspection" procedure.
