Dealers must perform this Service Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery.
When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Hyundai Motor America's "Warranty Vehicle Information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns.

DESCRIPTION

This bulletin describes the procedure for updating the Navigation System Software for certain 2016 Model Year Navigation systems. This update adds the Voice recognition command "Find < POI >", revises the Hands-free system logic to allow '0' phonebook contacts downloaded not to trigger an error and optimizes the Voice recognition address search feature.

Update USB sticks, SD Cards and new Navigation Owner's manuals have been sent to each dealership. Additional update media and Navigation Owner's manuals can be purchased through the PDC as a kit or separately using the applicable P/N.

'CAMP' has been added to the part number of each Navigation Owner's Manual for ordering purposes only, delivered parts will not have the word 'CAMP' on the part  .

NOTE: Vehicles/radios shown below for this service procedure share the exact same steps to complete the update.  Example steps in this section will demonstrate only one radio but apply to all vehicles/radios pictured in this service procedure section.

  1. With the vehicle ignition "OFF"  and the Navigation system "OFF"  , remove the Navigation SD Map card, and then insert the Update SD Card (A).
    NOTE: You may temporarily store the Navigation Map SD card in the SD Card holder supplied with the Update SD Card as shown in the illustration.

  2. With the update SD Map card now inserted, start the vehicle or turn the ignition to "ON"  .
    NOTE: To start the vehicle using the Start/Stop Button, depress the brake and push the Start/Stop Button once.

  3. The update will begin automatically and continue until completed.

    The update takes approximately 20 minutes  .

    NOTE: If the update does not start automatically, go to MANUAL NAVIGATION OPERATING SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATE .

  4. After the update is completed, the Navigation system will reboot.

  5. The clock will be shown after the Navigation system has restarted. Push the "POWER"  button to turn the system "On"  .

  6. Software update confirmation. 

    Select "Agree"  or "Confirm"  on the Navigation display to transition to the map view.

  9. Compare the "S/W VER"  shown on the navigation display with the updated s/w version in the table below.

    Skip to PARTS INFORMATION: GENERATION 3 NAVIGATION , if the "S/W VER"  is updated.

    If "S/W VER"  does not match the updated version in the table, verify the update media being used and start from step  1.

  1. 10. If the navigation is "OFF"  , turn it "ON"  by pushing the "Power"  button.

    Confirm the software update using step ( 6- 9).

    IMPORTANT: Replace the Multimedia User's Manual and SD Card ONLY  for applicable  vehicles included in this campaign that receive a software update. The use of the new SD Card on vehicles not eligible for the update may result in incorrect operation or head unit replacement compatibility concerns later  .
    • The previous SD Card will no longer function with this updated s/w.
    • The new Multimedia User's Manual describes newly added Voice Recognition features.
    • The new Multimedia User's Manual and SD Card are shipped together in one anti-static package (same as a newly delivered vehicle).
    • The "OLD" SD Card  and "OLD" Multimedia User's Manual  will be recalled via a WTC parts return.
    • See examples below to identify the "New" Multimedia Manual  and "New" SD Card  .

    The update will continue until completed.

    The update takes approximately 30 minutes.

  7. During the update, the navigation system will reboot itself 3 to 4 times automatically at different progression stages.

    No interaction is required, the reboots are automatic.

  8. After the update is complete, the navigation system will reboot and display the legal disclaimer screen or transition to the navigation map after 5 seconds.

    To confirm the updated s/w version, access the "System Info"  (steps  3- 6) screen, and compare the "S/W VER"  in the "System Info"  menu with the table below.

    If "S/W VER"  does not match the updated version in the table, verify the update media being used and start from step ( 1).
