Power Circuit Inspection of Fuel Pressure Sensor

■ Check Voltage 

1. IG "OFF". Disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector.
2. IG "ON"
3. Measure voltage between TPS power terminal of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Approx. 5V

4. Is the measured voltage within specification?

   YES 

   • Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

   NO 

   • Go to next procedure.

■ Short to Ground Check 

1. IG "OFF". Disconnect FPCM, fuel pressure sensor connector.
2. Measure the resistance between power terminal of fuel pressure sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification:  Infinite

   • Fault is intermittent. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
3. Is the measured resistance within specification?

   YES 

   • Substitute with a known - good FPCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace FPCM and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

   NO 

   • Repair short in harnesss. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
