Component Inspection

1. IG "OFF".
2. IG "ON".
3. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
4. Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
5. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
6. Are any DTCs present?

YES 

• Substitute with a known-good SAS and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace SAS and then go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

  *In a case of replacing the SAS, operate "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" by GDS.

• Substitute with a known-good HECU and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace HECU and then go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
  NOTE: In a case of replacing HECU, operate "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction (refer to DTC C1261 ) - ESC only

NO 

• Fault is intermittent caused by poor connection in CAN signal harness and/or HECU's connector. Go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
