Component Inspection

  1. Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the sensor connector (Component side).
    TERMINALS TEMPERATURE & RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

    Temperature Resistance (kΩ)
    -20 °C (-4 °F) Approx. 14.26~16.02
    20°C (68°F) Approx. 2.35~2.54
    80°C (176°F) Approx. 0.31~0.32

  2. Is IAT sensor data within the specification?

YES  : --> Check for poor connection between ECM and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

NO  : --> Check IAT sensor for contamination, deterioration, or damage. Substitute with a known-good IAT sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace IAT sensor and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
