Control Circuit Inspection

Check for short to ground in harness.
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect EGR Sol. Valve connector and PCM connector.
3. Measure resistance between terminal "1" of EGR Sol. Valve harness connector and chassis ground.
  1. Specification: Infinite

4. Is the measured resistance within specification?
  YES
  - Go to " 2 Check for short to battery in harness" as below.
  NO
  - Check short to ground in signal harness.
  - Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Check for short to battery in harness.
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect EGR Sol. Valve connector and PCM connector.
3. Measure resistance between terminals "1" and "2" of EGR Sol. Valve harness connector.
  1. Specification: Infinite

4. Is the measured resistance within specification?
  YES
  - Go to " 3 Check for open in harness" as below.
  NO
  - Check for short to battery in harness between EGR Sol. Valve connector and PCM connector.
  - Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Check for open in harness.
1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect EGR Sol. Valve and PCM connector.
3. Measure resistance between terminal "1" of EGR Sol. Valve harness connector and terminal "6" of PCM harness connector.
  1. Specification: Approx. below 1Ω

4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?
  YES
  - Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.
  NO
  - Check open in harness between EGR Sol. Valve connector and PCM connector.
  - Repair or replace as necessary. And then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
