Inspection Procedures

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS RELATING TO FTPS 
    1. Connect Hi-Scan (Pro) to data link connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch to ON and monitor any other DTCs.

    Are any other DTCs also set? 

    No: Go to next step.

    Yes: Do all repairs associated with those codes.

  2. CHECK FTPS AND ECM CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Thoroughly check connectors for loose, bent, corroded, contaminated, deteriorated or damaged connectors.

    Is any problem present? 

    No: Go to next step.

    Yes: Repair or replace it.

  3. CHECK FTPS FOR NORMAL PARAMETER 
    1. Reconnect FTPS connector and turn ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using Hi-Scan (Pro), monitor FTPS voltage signals.
    • Specification: approximately 2.5V at atmosphere 
    • Refer to  FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR  of Evaporative Emission Control System for more information. 

    Is voltage within specification? 

    Yes: Proceed with ECM PROBLEM PROCEDURE .

    No: Replace FTPS.
