DTC P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Malfunction: Notes

NOTE: VSS is Hall-effect type sensor located on top of transaxle. VSS outputs a pulse signal to Powertrain Control Module (PCM), instrument cluster, trip computer, Electronic Time And Alarm Control System (ETACS) control module, and Electronic Power Steering (EPS) control module while vehicle is being driven. VSS intermittently grounds the circuits and number of pulses per minute changes with changes in speed of vehicle.
