DTC P1611/P1614 - Mil Request Signal Circuit

NOTE: This test is associated with DTC P1611 - Signal Circuit Low Input and P1614 - Signal Circuit High Input.
  1. Install scan tool. Start engine and check if DTC P1611 or P1614 is present. If DTC is present, go to next step. If DTC is not present, problem is intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TESTS W/O CODES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check circuit between ECM terminal No. 61 and Transmission Control Module (TCM) harness connector. Also, check ECM and TCM terminal contacts. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary. If circuit and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  3. Replace TCM with a known-good unit. Clear DTC. See CLEARING CODES under Self Diagnostic System section. Retest system. Recheck DTC. If DTC resets, replace TCM.
