DTC P0335/P0336 - CKP Sensor Circuit Range/Malfunction
- P0335 - CKP Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- P0336 - CKP Sensor Circuit Range
- Install scan tool. Start engine and check if DTC P0335 or P0336 is present. If DTC is present, go to next step. If DTC is not present, problem is intermittent.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector. Check for continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 43 and CKP harness connector terminal No. 2. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS section. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check for open in circuit.
- Check for continuity between ECM terminal No. 16 and CKP harness connector terminal No. 3. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check for open in circuit between CKP sensor and ECM.
- Check continuity between CKP sensor harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check for open in circuit between terminal No. 1 and ground.
- Check resistance between CKP sensor terminals No. 2 and 3. Resistance should be 486-594 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace CKP sensor. If resistance is as specified, check clearance between CKP sensor and sensor wheel. Clearance should be .020-.059 inches. Adjust as necessary. Clear DTC. See CLEARING DTC(S) . Retest system. If DTC resets, replace ECM.
