Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 GMC Canyon and 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Uncap the fuel tank.

  2. Position the fuel filler hose to the fender.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the fuel filler hose screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fuel filler hose screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  4. Connect the fuel filler hose (4) to the fuel tank (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the fuel filler hose clamp to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  5. Connect the EVAP hose (2) to the filler vent tube (1). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  6. Install the bolt (3) securing the fuel filler hose ground strap to the frame (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the fuel filler hose ground strap bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  7. Install the left pickup box wheelhouse liner. Refer to Pickup Box Wheelhouse Liner Replacement in Body Rear End.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Refill the fuel tank.
  10. Install the fuel fill cap.
  11. Inspect for leaks.
