Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .

  3. Disconnect the fuel return hose/pipe (1) from the fuel rail. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .

  5. Disconnect the atmospheric vent hose (2) from the fuel pressure regulator (3).

  7. Clean any dirt from the fuel pressure regulator (3) and the surrounding area.
  8. Remove the fuel pressure regulator screws (4, 5).
  9. Pull the fuel pressure regulator (3) and O-ring seal (2) from the fuel rail (1).

    Discard the O-ring seal (2).

  10. Pull the fuel rail return pipe (6) and O-ring seal (7) from the fuel pressure regulator (3).

    Discard the O-ring seal (7).

  11. Inspect the regulator filter screen for contamination. If contaminated, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
