The ATF temperature sensor is a thermistor type sensor that changes resistance according to the change in ATF temperature. The transmission control module (TCM) sends a 5 V reference signal to the sensor through a pull-up resistor. When the ATF temperature is low, the sensor resistance increases and the TCM detects a high signal voltage. As the ATF temperature rises, the sensor resistance decreases and the TCM detects a low signal voltage. When the engine is stopped and enough time has passed, the ATF temperature will equalize to the engine coolant temperature. When the temperature in the ATF temperature sensor deviates from the temperature in engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor 2 after the engine is stopped and enough time has passed, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type

Execution Once per driving cycle
Sequence P0111, P0112, P0113, P011A, P011B, P0128 are judged as OK
Duration 10 seconds or more
DTC Type Two drive cycles, MIL on, shift position indicator blinks
