How to use this service information .

1. Engine Oil Pressure - Test

   Preconditions 

   • Low Oil Pressure Warning Message Not On (while engine running)
   • Engine Oil Level Normal Condition - Refer to: Engine Oil Level Check  or Engine Oil Replacement 
   • Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Removed

   Procedure/Specifications 

   1. Install the oil pressure gauge to the rocker arm oil control valve.

   2. Start the engine. Shut it off immediately if the gauge registers no oil pressure. Repair the problem before continuing.

   3. Allow the engine to reach operating temperature (cooling fan comes on at least twice).

   Specifications 

   Condition		Standard Value
   Engine oil temperature at 176°F (80°C)	At Idle	90 kPa (0.92 kgf/cm 2, 13.1 psi) min.
   	At 3,000 rpm	450 kPa (4.59 kgf/cm 2, 65.3 psi) min.

   4. Remove the oil pressure gauge.

   Result 

   • If it is abnormal, inspect these items:
     1. -

        Oil filter blocked or plugged.

     2. -

        Oil strainer blocked or plugged.

     3. -

        Inspect the oil pump relief valve .
