Camshaft Oil Seal Replacement - In Car: Replacement

  1. Timing Belt - Remove
  2. Camshaft Pulley and Back Cover - Remove
  3. Camshaft Oil Seal - Replace

    REAR

    1. Clean and dry the camshaft oil seal housing.

    2. Apply a light coat of new engine oil to the lip of the camshaft oil seal.

    3. Using the ball joint remover/installer, a washer (A), and a 12 x 75 x 1.25 mm bolt (B), press in the camshaft oil seal (C) squarely into the cylinder head to the specified installed height.

    4. Measure the distance between the cylinder head surface (E) and the camshaft oil seal (F).

    5. Clean the excess oil off the camshaft, and check that the camshaft oil seal lip is not distorted.

    0.5-1.5 mm (0.020-0.059 in) 
  4. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
