DTC P173A  : Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor Performance High

DTC P2872  : Over Drive Clutch Stuck Engaged

DTC (Gear)

1. DTC check

   -1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	Confirmed DTC	Pending DTC	Freeze Frame
   P173A Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor Performance High

   Is DTC P173A indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2

   NO 

   The failure is not duplicated. Go to step 3

2. Problem verification

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -3. Enter the maintenance mode , then start the engine until the cooling fan comes on.

   -4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   -5. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -6. Raise the vehicle on a lift. Make sure it is securely supported, and allow all four wheels to rotate freely.

   -7. Select the ENERGY FLOW screen on the MID.

   -8. Enter the VSA maintenance mode .

   -9. Select the HV mode by pressing the HV button.

   NOTE: The HV indicator in the gauge assembly comes on.

   -10. Run the vehicle in the engine drive mode for at least 10 seconds. Apply the brakes, and slowly bring the wheels to a stop.

   

   Do not brake hard when working on a running vehicle on a lift. It may cause some damage to the drive-line.

   -11. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   P173A Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor Performance High

   Is DTC P173A indicated?

   YES 

   Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good transmission fluid pressure sensor , then recheck. If this DTC goes away and the transmission fluid pressure sensor was substituted, replace the original transmission fluid pressure sensor . If the DTC does not clear, replace the original PCM .

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

3. Problem verification

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -3. Enter the maintenance mode .

   

   If multiple failure exists during the problem verification, the engine may stall when entering the maintenance mode.

   -4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   -5. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   P0757 Shift Solenoid Valve B Stuck ON

   Is DTC P2872, P0752, P0757 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 4

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

4. ATF check

   -1. Check the ATF level to make sure that the transmission is filled to the proper level, and check for fluid leaks.

   -2. Drain the ATF through a strainer. Inspect the strainer for metal debris or excessive clutch material.

   Does the strainer have metal debris or excessive clutch material?

   YES 

   Replace the transmission (e-CVT) .

   NO 

   Replace shift solenoid valve A and shift solenoid valve B and the valve body assembly .
