DTC P0C2F: GEN-ENG Angular Speed Correlation Malfunction
General Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC if the pulse value of the generator motor differs from the crank pulse value by either a set value or less, or a set vale or more.

Malfunction Threshold
When the generator motor pulse count is different from the crank pulse count by 127 or less or by 154 or more.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- PCM NGENPLS line open
- PCM NGENPLS line short to failure
- PCM NGENPLS line electrical noise overlapped
- CKP sensor CRKP line failure
- CKP sensor CRKP line electrical noise overlapped
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
- Enter the maintenance mode, then start the engine.
- Drive the vehicle at engine speed [Engine Speed] between 500 - 2, 500 rpm for at least 24 seconds.
- When freeze data is stored, hold the engine speed under those conditions.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
