DTC P00FE
DTC P00FE: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Line Blockage
General Description
VENT blockage is determined by the change in the tank internal pressure. If there is a pressure change in the tank, the PCM determines as normal. If there is no pressure change, there is a possibility that the VENT blockage failure or the pressure in the tank is not applied. The PCM detects a blockage of vent line by estimating the volume of space in the evaporative emission (EVAP) system. If the volume of space is large, the EVAP leak check module is closed and decompressed by purge. If the volume of space is small, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

[ ]: HDS Parameter
Malfunction Threshold
When the calculated volume of space in the EVAP system is 6.8 L (1.8 US gal) or less.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- EVAP vent line blockage
- Vent shut float blockage
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
- Average fuel level [Fuel Level(Average)] of 85 % or less, turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait for at least 10 minutes. Drive the vehicle at 7 miles (10 km/h) or more after refueling.
- Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, and wait for at least 5 hours.
- PCM wake up, and wait at least 18 minutes 40 seconds.
- When you have difficulty duplicating the DTC because of road conditions and traffic situations, repeat the driving pattern several times.
- Drive the vehicle in this manner only if the traffic regulations and ambient conditions allow.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
