Camshaft Timing Inspection: Inspection
- Cylinder Head Cover - Remove
- Motor Undercover - Remove
- Camshaft Timing - Inspect
1. Turn the crankshaft to align No. 1 position at top dead center (TDC); the white mark on the crankshaft pulley (A) lines up with the pointer (B). 2. Check the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC). The "UP" mark (A) on the camshaft sprocket should be at the top, and the TDC grooves (B) on the camshaft sprocket should align up with the top edge of the cylinder head. 3. Make sure that the position shown (A) of the camshaft maintenance hole aligns with the upper camshaft holder groove (B). NOTE:
- If the marks are not aligned, rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees, and recheck the camshaft pulley mark.
- If the marks still do not align, remove the cam chain and reinstall the cam chain properly .
- All Removed Parts - Install
1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
