NFC does not function
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first .
- Make sure that the latest software is installed.
- You must be able to duplicate the customer's concern to successfully diagnose the problem. If you cannot duplicate the issue, have the customer demonstrate it.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Tap the vehicle's (same year/trim) NFC logo on the dash using a known-good mobile phone that is equipped with an NFC, and check the NFC operation.
Does the center display respond?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. The customer's mobile phone may be defective or not compatible.
NO
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
- Shorted wire check (USB2 lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Open the driver's door, and wait more than 1 minute.
-3. Disconnect the following connectors.
Infotainment control unit connector H (5P) Near field communication unit 5P connector -4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Infotainment control unit connector H (5P): disconnected Near field communication unit 5P connector: disconnected Test point 1: Test points 2: No. 1 No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 No. 2 No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 No. 3 No. 4, No. 5 No. 4 No. 5 Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES
There is a short in the wires. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The USB2 wires are not shorted in the wires. Go to step 3.
- Open wire check (USB2 lines)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The USB2 wires are OK. Go to step 4.
NO
There is an open in the wire (s). Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Near field communication unit check
-1. Substitute a known-good near field communication unit .
-2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original near field communication unit.
NO
