Maintenance Sub Items

MAINTENANCE SUB ITEMS REFERENCE CHART

Number Maintenance Sub Items
1 Rotate tires, and check tire inflation and condition
Follow the pattern shown in the Owner's Manual.
2 Replace air cleaner element (see AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT )
If the vehicle is driven primarily in dusty conditions, replace every 15, 000 miles (24, 000 km).
Replace dust and pollen filter (see DUST AND POLLEN FILTER REPLACEMENT )
  • If the vehicle is driven mostly in areas that have high concentrations of dust, pollen, or soot in the air, replace every 15, 000 miles (24, 000 km).
  • Replace filter whenever airflow from the heating and air conditioning system is less than normal.
Inspect drive belt (see CONNECTING PIPE REPLACEMENT )
Look for cracks and damage, and inspect auto-tensioner; no adjustment is needed.
3 Replace manual transmission fluid (MTF) (see TRANSMISSION FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT )
Manual transmission fluid capacity: 1.4 L (1.5 US qt); use Honda MTF.
Replace CVT fluid (CVTF) (see CVT FLUID REPLACEMENT )
CVT fluid capacity: 2.8 L (3.0 US qt); use Honda CVTF.
4 Replace spark plugs (see IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
Use DIFR6A13G (NGK) or DK20PR-D13 (DENSO).
Inspect the valve clearance (cold) (see VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT )
Intake: 0.15-0.19 mm (0.006-0.007 in), Exhaust: 0.26-0.30 mm (0.010-0.011 in).
5 Replace engine coolant (see COOLANT REPLACEMENT )
Capacity (including the reservoir):
M/T model: 4.42 L (1.168 US gal), CVT model: 4.35 L (1.149 US gal); use Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2.
