DTC B2028: Left Power Sliding Door Remote Control Switch 2 Signal Error

NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see
TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A
).
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
- Turn the power sliding door main switch ON.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2028 indicated?
YES -Go to step 7.
NO -Go to step 5.
- Move the left power sliding door inside handle to CLOSE side for at least 5 seconds.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2028 indicated?
YES -Go to step 7.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the left power sliding door remote control assembly and the left power sliding door control unit.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect these items:
- Left power sliding door control unit connector A (12P)
- Left power sliding door control unit connector B (16P)
- Left power sliding door latch remote control assembly connector A (8P)
- Check for continuity between left power sliding door latch remote control assembly connector A (8P) terminal No. 6 and body ground.Fig 1: Checking Continuity Between Left Power Sliding Door Latch Remote Control Assembly Connector A (8P) Terminal No. 6 And Body Ground

Is there continuity?
YES -Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO -Go to step 10.
- Check for continuity between left power sliding door latch remote control assembly connector A (8P) terminal No. 4 and body ground.Fig 2: Checking Continuity Between Left Power Sliding Door Latch Remote Control Assembly Connector A (8P) Terminal No. 4 And Body Ground

Is there continuity?
YES -Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO -Go to step 11.
- Check for continuity between body ground and left power sliding door latch remote control assembly connector A (8P) terminals No. 4 and No. 6 individually.Fig 3: Checking Continuity Between Body Ground And Left Power Sliding Door Latch Remote Control Assembly Connector A (8P) Terminals No. 4 And No. 6

Is there continuity?
YES -Replace the left power sliding door remote control assembly (see SLIDING DOOR LATCH REMOTE CONTROL ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT ).
NO -Replace the left power sliding door control unit (see POWER SLIDING DOOR MOTOR UNIT REPLACEMENT ).
