SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Symptom Diagnostic procedure Also check for
Blower motor runs, but one or more speeds are inoperative BLOWER MOTOR CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING  (see )
  • Faulty blower resistor
  • Cleanliness and tightness of all connectors
Blower motor does not run at all BLOWER MOTOR CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING  (see )
  • Blown fuse No. 5 (40 A) in the under-hood fuse/relay box, and No. 10 (7.5 A) in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • Poor ground (G402, G403) (see GROUND TO COMPONENTS INDEX )
  • Cleanliness and tightness of all connectors
Blower motor runs with the fan switch off BLOWER MOTOR CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING  (see ) Short in blower motor ground circuit
