Control Unit Input Test

- Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the HandsFreeLink control unit (A) (see step 2 on ).
- Inspect the connector (B) and socket terminals for a good pinfit to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to next step.
- Reconnect the connector, and make these input tests at the connector.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to next step.CAVITY AND WIRE TESTING CONDITION CHART
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if result is not obtained 14 BRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to body ground:

27 PUR Ignition switch in ACCESSORY (I) or ON (ID Measure the voltage to body ground:
There should be battery voltage.- Blown No. B18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
- An open in the wire
28 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to body ground:
There should be battery voltage.- Blown No. A15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
- An open in the wire
- Disconnect the 28P connector again, and make this input test at the connector.
- If the test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If the input test proves OK, the HandsFreeLink control unit is faulty, replace it.CAVITY AND WIRE TESTING CONDITION CHART

- Immobilizer-keyless control unit 7P connector
- Power seat control unit connector B (40P)
Check for continuity to body ground: There should be no continuity. Short to body ground 26 BLU UAudio unit connector B (20P) disconnected Check for continuity between terminal No. 26 and the audio unit connector B (20P) terminal No. 3: There should be continuity. An open in the wire Disconnect these items: - Gauge control module 32P connector
- Climate control unit connector B (12P)
- Audio unit connector B (20P)
- Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (20P)
- Passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box connector A (38P)
- Door multiplex control unit 37P connector
