Starting And Accelerating In Forward Gears (4WD Mode)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2015 Honda Crosstour, 2014 Honda Crosstour, 2013 Honda Crosstour, 2012 Honda Crosstour, and 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Do not test repeatedly or the fluid will overheat.
- Raise and support the vehicle (see LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ).
- Make a mark (A) on either No. 1 or No. 2 propeller shaft (B).
- Start the engine, and let it idle until the radiator fan comes on at least twice.
- With the engine at idle, shift to 1.
- Firmly apply the parking brake to lock the rear wheels, and watch the rotation of the propeller shaft.
- If it takes more than 10 seconds to rotate one time, the 4WD system is normal.
- If it takes less than 10 seconds to rotate one time, there is a problem in the 4WD system. Check the differential fluid first. If the differential fluid is normal, replace the torque control differential (TCD) case kit (front pump portion).
