Mode Control Switch Test

Remove heater control panel. Disconnect 14-pin connector. Check for continuity between specified terminals of heater control panel 14-pin connector. See the MODE CONTROL SWITCH TEST  table for terminal identification. Also, see Fig 1 or Figure . If continuity does not exist, replace heater control panel.

MODE CONTROL SWITCH TEST

Switch Position Continuity Should Exis Between Terminals
Vent (Face) 4 & 1
Bi-Level (Face/Foot) 4 & 2
Heat (Foot) 4 & 3
Heat/Defrost (Foot/Windshield) 4 & 7
Defrost (Windshield) 4 & 8
