Fuel Tank Pressure Control Valve (Without Enhanced EVAP Control System)

Remove tank pressure control valve (located next to EVAP canister). See Figure. Using a vacuum hose, blow forcefully into tank side (Black side) of valve. Air should pass smoothly through valve and out canister side (Orange side) of valve. Using vacuum hose, blow softly into canister side (Orange side) of valve. Air should pass smoothly through valve and out fuel tank side (Black side). Replace fuel tank pressure control valve if it does not operate as specified.

NOTE: Fuel tank pressure control valve will not allow air to flow from fuel tank (TANK) port to canister (CAN) port until TANK port side pressure is more than .5 psi (.035 kg/cm2 ).
