Diagnosis & Repair
- Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition on. Select CLEAR INFORMATION function. Operate vehicle within FREEZE FRAME conditions. If DTC P0105 resets, go to next step. If DTC P0105 does not reset, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAP sensor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between harness connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow wire) and ground. If reading is 5 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 5 volts, go to step 4).
- Measure voltage between harness connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green/Red wire) and ground. If reading is 5 volts, go to step 6). If reading is not 5 volts, go to step 5).
- Check MAP sensor 5-volt reference circuit (Yellow wire) for open or short. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace PCM. Retestsystem.
- Check MAP sensor input circuit (Light Green/Red wire) for open or short. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
- Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe harness connector terminal No. 1 (Brown wire). If test light comes on, replace MAP sensor. If test light does not come on, go to next step.
- Check for open MAP sensor ground circuit (Brown wire). Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
