CODE 41, IGNITION SIGNAL CKT, LSi STD IGN W/VAC ADVANCE

This ignition system has a standard vacuum advance. The ignition system sends a signal to ECM. ECM uses this signal to determine when to pulse fuel injector. Code 41 will be set if ECM does not receive a signal for 2 seconds when cranking engine. The CHECK ENGINE light will not illuminate for this code.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. The ignition system sends an AC voltage that varies while engine is being cranked.
  2. Checks ECM and noise suppressor.
  3. Tests noise suppressor.
  4. Checks pick-up coil in distributor.
