DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy Case 1
  • Sensor signal implausible low
  1. Poor connecting condition
  2. Faulty EOTS circuit
  3. Faulty EOTS
Case 2
  • Sensor signal implausible high
Case 3
  • Compliance monitoring
Enable Condition Case 1
  • Engine speed is between 768 and 960 RPM at engine start
  • Engine oil temperature is higher than 71°C (159.8°F)
Case 2
  • Engine speed is between 768 and 960 RPM at engine start
  • Engine oil temperature is less than 49°C (120.2°F)
Case 3
  • Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V
  • Engine stop time is more than 360 minutes
  • After engine start, engine coolant and engine oil temperature decreases below 2.5°C (36.5°F) for 15 seconds over 25 km/h (15.53 MPH) in vehicle speed
  • After engine start, the ambient air temperature decreases below 2.0°C (35.6°F) for 15 seconds over 25 km/h (15.53 MPH) in vehicle speed
  • After engine start, the intake air temperature decreases below 4.0°C (39.2°F) for 15 seconds over 25 km/h (15.53 MPH) in vehicle speed
  • Engine oil temperature is more than -30°C (-22°F)
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Engine oil temperature is less than 19°C (66.2°F)
Case 2
  • Engine oil temperature is more than 120°C (240°F)
Case 3
  • Difference between the maximum value of the engine oil temperature sensor and the maximum value of the ambient air/engine coolant temperature 1/engine coolant temperature 2/intake air temperature is more than 20°C (68°F) and is detected more than 3 times
Diagnostic Time Case 1, 2
  • 15 seconds
Case 3
  • 0.4 seconds
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
