Monitoring DTC Status

  1. IG KEY "ON".
  2. Connect Scantool and select "DTC Analysis" mode.
  3. Click "DTC Status" on the "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)" menu bar to see DTC's information.
  4. Confirm that "DTC Readiness Flag" indicates "COMPLETED". If not, drive the vehicle within conditions noted in the freeze frame data or enable conditions.
  5. Read "DTC Status" parameter.

  6. Is parameter displayed "Present fault"?

    YES 

    • Go to "W/Harness Inspection" procedure.

    NO 

    • Displaying nothing (no DTC) or DTC with label "H" (historical) shows that Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the part's and/or SCM (Steering Column Module) connector or was repaired and SCM (Steering Column Module) memory was not cleared.
    • Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

      → Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
