LIN Communication Circuit Inspection

■ Check Open & Short-to-Ground

IG key "OFF".
Disconnect IBU*_BCM connector, WMM* connector and "WIPER MOTOR" connector.
Measure the resistance between "LIN" terminal of IBU*_BCM harness connector and "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector.
Specification : Below aprox. 1Ω
Measure the resistance between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Infinity (∞)
Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Go to "Check Short-to-Battery" below.
No
- Check open/poor connection between "LIN" terminal of IBU*_BCM and "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector.
- Check short between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and chassis ground.
  → Repair or replace as necessary, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

■ Check Short-to-Battery

IG key "OFF".
Disconnect IBU*_BCM connector, WMM* connector and "WIPER MOTOR" connector.
IG key "ON", Engine "OFF".
Measure the voltage between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Below aprox. 200mV
Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
→ Repair or replace as necessary, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

NO
- Check short between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and the battery power.
NOTE: IBU*: "IBU CONTROL MODULE"
RSM*: "RAIN SENSOR"
