Monitor GDS Data

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC)
  2. IG key "ON", Engine "ON".
  3. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
  4. Are any DTCs present?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good "4WD ECU" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "4WD ECU".
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and 4WD ECU memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
  5. Is any DTC present after test driving?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known-good "transfer case" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "Transfer Case" and then Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO
