Repair Procedures: Replacement: [2WD]
- Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
- Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.NOTE: Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire.
- Remove the brake caliper assembly.
(Refer to Brake System - "FRONT DISC BRAKE ")
- Remove the brake disc by loosening the screw (A).
Tightening Torque
A: 4.9-5.9 N.m (0.5-0.6 kgf.m, 3.6-4.3 lb-ft)
- Remove the wheel speed sensor by loosening the wheel speed sensor bracket bolt (A) and wheel speed sensor mounting bolt (B).
: Tightening toque
6.9-10.8 N.m (0.7-1.1 kgf.m, 5.1-8.0 lb-ft)
- Remove the tie rod end ball joint from the knuckle.
- Loosen the tension arm mount bolt (A), and then remove the tension arm (B).
Tightening Torque:
88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)
- Using the special tool (09568-2J100), remove the lateral arm from the knuckle.
- Using the special tool (09568-2J100), separate the upper arm from the knuckle and then remove the knuckle assembly.
Tightening Torque:
78.5 - 88.3 N.m (8.0 - 9.0 kgf.m, 57.9 - 65.1 lb-ft)
- Loosen the hub mounting bolt and then remove the hub assembly (B) from the knuckle (A).
Tightening Torque:
88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolt and then remove the dust cover (A).
Tightening Torque:
6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.NOTE: Use a SST (09581-11000) when installing the brake caliper assembly.
