DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Electrical Check
  1. Short to battery in harness
  2. Poor connection or damaged harness
Case 1 Prerequisite condition
  • Elapsed time after ignition switch turned "ON" is longer than 0.1 seconds.
  • Engine is stopped.
  • No main relay related failure is detected.
Threshold Value
  • Alternator load is less than 15%
Diagnosis Time
  • 1 Second
Case 2 Prerequisite condition
  • No relevant failure (DTC) is detected.
  • Battery voltage is lower than 16V.
  • Engine speed is between 600 rpm and 4000 rpm.
  • Engine coolant temperature is higher than 73°C (140°F).
Threshold Value
  • Alternator load is less than 2%.
Diagnosis Time
  • 20 Seconds
MIL On Condition
  • No MIL ON (DTC only)
