DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Main Action
  • Plausibility check
  1. Poor connection or damaged harness
  2. Faulty IAT sensor
Case 1 Prerequisite condition
  • Engine speed during engine start is higher than 640 rpm to 960 rpm.
  • Battery voltage is between 11V and 16V
  • Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) is higher than 74°C (165.2°F).
  • Engine stop time is longer than 10 minutes.
Threshold value
  • Signal is stuck.
  • Intake air temperature signal variation since engine starts is lower than 1.5°C (34.7°F).
Diagnosis Time
  • Immediately
Case 2 Prerequisite condition
  • Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
Threshold value
  • Noisy signal is detected.
  • Absolute value of difference between IAT and IAT moving mean value is higher than 8.25°C (46.9°F).
Diagnosis Time
  • 0.5 Seconds
Case 3 Prerequisite condition
  • Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V.
  • Engine stop time is longer than 480 min.
  • Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) drop after starting is lower than 1.4°C (34.5°F) within 15 seconds.
Threshold value
  • Deviation between IAT and 2 other temperature sensors (ECT, AAT or EOT) is higher than 20°C (68°F) and Deviation among other temperature sensors (ECT, AAT, EOT) is lower than or equal to 20°C (68°F).
Diagnosis Time
  • Immediately
MIL On Condition
  • 3rd Driving Cycle
