Component Inspection

  1. Turn "OFF" the ignition switch.
  2. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  3. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
  4. Using a GDS, and clear the DTC.
  5. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
  6. Are any DTCs present?

    YES 

    • If DTC returns even after the tests, replace it with a new ECS and see if it properly operates. If the problem is cleared, put the new ECS in place and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault can be intermittent caused by faulty ESP (ESC) or was repaired and ESP (ESC) memory was not cleared. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
    NOTE: * In a case of replacing ESP (ESC), operate following functions
    1. "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction (refer to C126104 ) -ESP (ESC) only
    2. "Longitudinal Sensor Calibration" for Longitudinal sensor offset correction (refer to C128504 ) - ESP (ESC) only
    3. "Variant Coding" for option coding (refer to C170204 )
