Component Inspection

  1. Ignition switch "OFF".
  2. Ignition switch "ON".
  3. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode.
  4. Using a GDS, and clear the DTC.
  5. Using a GDS and check DTC states.
  6. Are any DTCs present?

    YES 

    • This DTC may be caused by an improper installation of the steering angle sensor. Check it for the installation.

    NO 

    • If there is no problem about the above items, substitute with a known-good Steering Angle Sensor and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace Steering Angle Sensor and then go to Verification of Repair  procedure.

      * In a case of replacing the Steering Angle Sensor, perform "Steering Angle Sensor Calibration" in "Vehicle S/W Management" menu of the GDS.

    • This fault is intermittently caused by poor connection of the Steering Angle Sensor. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
