LIN Communication Circuit Inspection

■ Check Open & Short-to-Ground 

1. IG key "OFF".
2. Disconnect IBU*_BCM connector, WMM* connector and "WIPER MOTOR" connector.
3. Measure the resistance between "LIN" terminal of IBU*_BCM harness connector and "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector.

   Specification  : Below aprox. 1Ω

4. Measure the resistance between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification  : Infinity (∞)

5. Is the measured resistance within specification?

   YES 

   • Go to "Check Short-to-Battery" below.

   No 

   • Check open/poor connection between "LIN" terminal of IBU*_BCM and "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector.
   • Check short between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and chassis ground.

     → Repair or replace as necessary, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

■ Check Short-to-Battery 

1. IG key "OFF".
2. Disconnect IBU*_BCM connector, WMM* connector and "WIPER MOTOR" connector.
3. IG key "ON", Engine "OFF".
4. Measure the voltage between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and chassis ground.

   Specification  : Below aprox. 200mV

5. Is the measured voltage within specification?

   YES 

   • Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

   → Repair or replace as necessary, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

   NO 

   • Check short between "LIN" terminal of RSM* harness connector and the battery power.
   NOTE: IBU*: "IBU CONTROL MODULE"
   RSM*: "RAIN SENSOR"
