Circuit/System Testing
- Identify how to disable high voltage.
- Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
- Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
- Perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure for servicing the Drive Motor Control Module or Transmission.
- View the Master Electrical Component List to locate the appropriate drive motor control module that set the DTC(s) for removal/replacement.
- Remove the appropriate drive motor control module that set the DTC(s).
- Test for infinite resistance between each of the phase circuit terminals listed below and the transmission case:
- Phase U
- Phase V
- Phase W
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the appropriate component: Drive Motor Stator
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 1 ohms between the test points:
- Phase U to Phase V
- Phase U to Phase W
- Phase V to Phase W
- If 1 ohms or greater
Replace the appropriate component: Drive Motor Stator
- Go to next step: If less than 1 ohms
- Reassemble the vehicle.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify DTC P0BFD is not set
- If the DTC is set
- Perform each of the operations listed below one at a time until the fault is corrected.NOTE:
The DTC(s) can set in any one of the drive motor control modules. Check which controller the DTC set in the scan tool and ensure you are replacing the drive motor control module that corresponds to the control module that set the DTC.

Replace the appropriate components.
- Appropriate Drive Motor Control Module
- Drive Motor
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- All OK.
Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:
Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.
