Circuit/System Testing
Test 1
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 11 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1150 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Verify a test lamp Illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 24 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good
- Test the B+ circuit 1940 for an open/high resistance.
- if an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open or high resistance is not found.
- Verify the fuse is not open and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open
- Test the B+ circuit 1940 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the component: S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Connect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: M74D Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Driver.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1150 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Verify a test lamp Illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good
- Test the B+ circuit 3540 for an open/high resistance.
- if an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open or high resistance is not found.
- Verify the fuse is not open and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open
- Test the B+ circuit 3540 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the component: M74D Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Driver.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 3 & B+.
- Operate the component: Driver Left Front Window Switch @ S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver - Pulled.
Verify the test lamp state:
Driver Left Front Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Driver Left Front Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 2763 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 2763 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 2763 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 7 & B+.
- Operate the component: Driver Left Front Window Switch @ S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver - Pressed.
Verify the test lamp state:
Driver Left Front Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Driver Left Front Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 2764 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 2764 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 2764 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 5 & B+.
- Operate the component: Driver Left Front Window Switch @ S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver - Pressed.
Verify the test lamp state:
Driver Left Front Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Driver Left Front Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 2766 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 2766 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 2766 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch-Driver.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Test or replace the component: M74D Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Driver.
Test 2
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1250 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Verify a test lamp Illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 24 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good
- Test the B+ circuit 1940 for an open/high resistance.
- if an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open or high resistance is not found.
- Verify the fuse is not open and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open
- Test the B+ circuit 1940 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the component: S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Connect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: M74P Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Passenger.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1250 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Verify a test lamp Illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good
- Test the B+ circuit 4240 for an open/high resistance.
- if an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open or high resistance is not found.
- Verify the fuse is not open and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open
- Test the B+ circuit 4240 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the component: M74P Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Passenger.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 3 & B+.
- Operate the component: Passenger Front Window Switch @ S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
Verify the test lamp state:
Passenger Front Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Passenger Front Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 1184 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 1184 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 1184 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 7 & B+.
- Operate the component: Passenger Front Window Switch @ S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
Verify the test lamp state:
Passenger Front Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Passenger Front Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 5295 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 5295 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 5295 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 5 & B+.
- Operate the component: Passenger Front Window Switch @ S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
Verify the test lamp state:
Passenger Front Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Passenger Front Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 2765 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 2765 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 2765 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79P Front Side Door Window Switch-Passenger.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Test or replace the component: M74P Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Passenger.
Test 3
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1150 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: M74LR Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Left.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1150 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Verify a test lamp Illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good
- Test the B+ circuit 3540 for an open/high resistance.
- if an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open or high resistance is not found.
- Verify the fuse is not open and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open
- Test the B+ circuit 3540 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the component: M74LR Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Left.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 3 & B+.
- Operate the component: Left Rear Window Switch @ S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left - Pulled.
Verify the test lamp state:
Left Rear Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Left Rear Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 1185 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 1185 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 1185 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 7 & B+.
- Operate the component: Left Rear Window Switch @ S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left - Pressed.
Verify the test lamp state:
Left Rear Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Left Rear Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 1187 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 1187 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 1187 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 5 & B+.
- Operate the component: Left Rear Window Switch @ S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left - Pressed.
Verify the test lamp state:
Left Rear Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Left Rear Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 5048 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 5048 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 5048 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79LR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Left.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Test or replace the component: M74LR Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Left.
Test 4
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1650 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect the electrical connector: X1 @ S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: M74RR Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Right.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 1 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1650 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Verify a test lamp Illuminates between B+ circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good
- Test the B+ circuit 4240 for an open/high resistance.
- if an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open or high resistance is not found.
- Verify the fuse is not open and there is voltage at the fuse.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open
- Test the B+ circuit 4240 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Replace the component: M74RR Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Right.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 3 & B+.
- Operate the component: Right Rear Window Switch @ S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
Verify the test lamp state:
Right Rear Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Right Rear Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 1186 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 1186 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 1186 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 7 & B+.
- Operate the component: Right Rear Window Switch @ S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
Verify the test lamp state:
Right Rear Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Right Rear Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 1188 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 1188 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 1188 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 5 & B+.
- Operate the component: Right Rear Window Switch @ S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
Verify the test lamp state:
Right Rear Window Switch - Not Used = Test lamp Off
Right Rear Window Switch - Pulled = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 5049 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 5049 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 5049 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S79RR Rear Side Door Window Switch-Right.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Test or replace the component: M74RR Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor-Right.
Test 5
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: S193 Accessory Power Receptacle Switch.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between ground circuit terminal 10 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Repair the open/high resistance on circuit 1850 or the ground connection.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- Connect the electrical connector: S193 Accessory Power Receptacle Switch.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X4 @ K9 Body Control Module.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Signal circuit terminal 11 X4 & B+.
- Operate the component: S79E Window Switch - Global @ S193 Accessory Power Receptacle Switch - Pressed.
Verify the test lamp state:
Not Pressed = Test lamp Off
Pressed = Test lamp On
- If the test lamp is always Off
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the harness connector at the S193 Accessory Power Receptacle Switch.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit 7176 end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
- Vehicle Power Mode - Run/Service Mode.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit 7176 and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the S193 Accessory Power Receptacle Switch.
- If the test lamp is always ON
- Vehicle Power Mode - Off.
- Remove the test lamp, disconnect the harness connector at the S193 Accessory Power Receptacle Switch.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit 7176 and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the S193 Accessory Power Receptacle Switch.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
- Test or replace the component: K9 Body Control Module.
