Engine Mount Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 GMC Acadia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Before replacing any engine mount due to suspected fluid loss, verify that the source of the fluid is the engine mount, not the engine or accessories.
- Install the engine support fixture. 2.0L ENGINE SUPPORT FIXTURE 2.5L ENGINE SUPPORT FIXTURE or 3.6L ENGINE SUPPORT FIXTURE
- Observe the engine mount while raising the engine. Raising the engine removes the weight from the engine mount and creates slight tension on the rubber.
- Replace the engine mount if the engine mount exhibits any of the following conditions:
- The hard rubber is covered with heat check cracks.
- The rubber is separated from the metal plate of the engine mount.
- The rubber is split through the center of the engine mount.
- The engine mount itself is leaking fluid.
- For engine mount replacement, refer to 2.0L ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT , 2.5L ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT or 3.6L ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT SIDE
