Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LCV, LGX) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 LCV, LGX) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LSY) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 LSY) 
  2. Intake Manifold (1) - Remove - Intake Manifold Replacement

    NOTE:

    Remove the throttle body and the intake manifold together as an assembly.

  3. Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  4. Thermostat Bypass Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Remove
  5. Radiator Inlet Hose (3) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Remove
  6. Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage [3x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  7. Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Remove
  8. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (3) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Remove
  9. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (4) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Remove
  10. Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Disconnect

  11. Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Disconnect

  12. Electrical Connector (2) @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - Disconnect
  13. Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  14. Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve (1) - Remove

  15. Water Outlet Seal (2) - Remove and DISCARD
