Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Battery Negative Cable

  1. Position the battery negative cable (1) into the engine compartment.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  3. Install Battery Negative Cable Ground Fastener (1) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  4. Connect the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear connector (1).
  5. Engage Retainer (2)
  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Install Battery Negative Cable Frame Ground Fastener (2) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
  8. Engage Retainer (1)
  9. Install Steering Gear Skid Shield -Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement (without ZR2)Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement (with ZR2)
  10. Install Underbody Splash Shield - Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (without ZR2)Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (with ZR2)

  11. Install Battery Negative Cable Ground Fastener (1) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  12. Connect the battery current sensor. (1)
  13. Engage Retainer (2)
  14. Install Battery Negative Cable (5)
  15. Install Fuse Block Nut (3) and tighten 13 N.m (115 lb in)
  16. Close the battery fuse block cover.(4)

  17. Engage Retainer (1)

  19. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

  20. Install Body Harness Ground Fastener (1) @ Battery Negative Post Clamp (3) and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
