Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

  3. Remove the front lower control arm ball stud nut cotter pin (1).

    DISCARD the pin.

  4. Loosen the front lower control arm ball stud nut (2) until it is level with the top of the front lower control arm ball stud.

  6. Use the CH-50986  remover (1) to separate the front lower control arm ball stud (2) from the steering knuckle. After separation, remove the front lower control arm ball stud nut completely.

    NOTE:

    The front brake components and front wheel bearing and hub assembly are not shown for clarity only. It is not necessary to remove the components to service the front lower control arm.

  8. Remove the front lower control arm rear nuts (1) and bolts (2).

    DISCARD the nuts and bolts.

    NOTE:

    The front brake components and front wheel bearing and hub assembly are not shown for clarity only. It is not necessary to remove the components to service the front lower control arm.

  10. Remove the front lower control arm front nut (1) and bolt (2).

    DISCARD the nut and bolt.

  12. Remove the front lower control arm (1) from the vehicle.
  13. Transfer components as necessary.
