Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the regulator (2) and retaining bolts (1) and torque to 19 (14 lb ft).

  3. Install coolant lines to fittings on regulator and apply spring clamps. Remove hose clamp pliers
  4. Install new O-ring on fuel inlet and outlet fittings and lubricate the new O-ring with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation.
  5. Install the fuel inlet line to the regulator (2) and torque to 35 (26 lb ft).
  6. Install the fuel outlet line to the regulator (1) and torque to 24 (18 lb ft).

  8. Connect the coolant temperature (1), fuel lock off (2), and fuel tank pressure sensor (3) electrical connectors.

  10. Install the fuel pump control module mounting bracket (2).
  11. Install the regulator and fuel pump control module mounting bracket nuts (1) and torque to 9 (80 lb in).
  12. Lower vehicle and re-pressurize the fuel system and test for leaks.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (TP2 - Auxiliary Battery) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
